To the Editor:

I would like to thank Christy Clark for a fine article on Wesley Chapel Cemetery ("Cemetery is a significant part of township history," ThisWeek Hilliard Northwest News, Sept. 5, 2013).

My daughter and her family live nearby, and I always make it a point to walk in the cemetery when we come for a visit.

It is such a peaceful, serene and beautifully maintained place with many interesting headstones. A walk from along the Scioto River to the cemetery is very picturesque; crossing Dublin Road is the only obstacle.

Southmont Borough, near Johnstown, Pa., where we live, is the home of the largest cemetery in Pennsylvania, covering half of the borough. Many of the 2,200 victims of the 1889 Johnstown flood were laid to rest here and it serves as a memorial to the dead and as a historical monument to the visitors.

The two cemeteries are similar as the visitors to both can stroll among the graves, taking in the scenery and savoring the moments of quiet meditation and solitude.
