In challenging time, vote for Burgess, Davis, Sodt
To the Editor:
Election Day 2013 is just around the corner. The Westerville City School District has three seats open on the Board of Education.
There are challenging issues the new BOE members will face within the next few years. Board members elected this November, will have the challenges of Win-Win renewal, all five union contract negotiations, Common Core implementation or waiver.
Now is the time for change. We need new people who have the best interest of the students first. We need BOE members who will make sure that programs and services for the students is the top priority. We need BOE members who are willing to closely analyze spending habits to insure educational opportunities for our children are the foundation of all decisions.
We need a BOE that will demonstrate that learning opportunities for our students take place in the arts, sports and clubs, not just in the classroom. We need a BOE that knows we need an administration and staff that deserves fair wages and benefits, but not at the expense of cutting services and programs for the students.
This community needs Jim Burgess, Luke Davis and John Sodt on the Board of Education.
