The Bexley Extended Area Transit (BEAT) bus will help transport residents to the Bexley Celebrations Association's July 4 evening festivities in the Capital University area of Main Street and College Avenue.

The BEAT's 14-passenger shuttle bus will run each quarter hour from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, July 4, from the school bus loading zone at Maryland Elementary School, 2754 Maryland Ave., to Capital University at the COTA bus stop on the south side of Main Street just east of the Drexel gate entryway. Two additional shuttle pickup locations will be at the COTA bus stop in front of Bexley United Methodist Church at the southeast corner of Broad Street and Cassingham Avenue, and at the Columbus School for Girls' Drexel Avenue parking lot entrance. There is no charge to ride, but donations will be accepted.

The BEAT's 14- and 20-passenger shuttles will run every 10 minutes after the fireworks from 10:15 to 11:30 p.m., with pickup at the COTA bus stop on the south side of Main Street just east of Capital's Drexel gate entryway and drop off across from CSG, Broad Street and Cassingham Avenue, and Maryland Elementary School.

Times are approximate because of variations in traffic and patron loading/unloading times. The shuttles will only stop at the designated locations if there are riders waiting. If a shuttle passes a pickup location with people waiting, the shuttle is full.
