The Bexley Natural Market will kick off fall this Sunday with its sixth-annual Harvest Festival.

Set up in the market's parking lot facing North Cassady Avenue, the festival will feature local vendors, food, games and entertainment for all ages, said Annerose Schaffrin, the cooperative grocery store manager.

She said the event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will even host the farmers market that usually sets up at the store on Wednesday evenings.

She said the Harvest Festival will be a great time for the whole family.

"There will be kids activities like face painting, games and crafts," Schaffrin said. "There might even be some massage therapy."

Local honey producer Connie Schalinske will be one of the vendors at the festival.

She said she doesn't have much of her Bexley-produced honey left, because it has been such a dry season.

"I have about 40 bottles of honey," she said. "It depends on what my bees are doing."

Schaffrin said vendors such as Snowville Creamery, Naturopath and a farmer from Athens, Ohio, also will set up booths.

One of the main events will be a raffle, she said. Gift baskets will be available for bidding.

Local companies have donated products and services to sell.

"Yoga on High is giving us a class to raffle," Schaffrin said. "Some of the vendors gave us some additional samples and coupons for their services."

Schaffrin said the festival started by accident. The first year was supposed to be a one-time event.

"This is our seventh year, but we call it our sixth annual," she said. "People liked it so much, we said we would keep doing it."
