The Bexley Junior Thespians will give three performances of "The Chocolate War" this weekend in the Cassingham Theatre.

The play, which is based on Robert Cormier's novel and adapted for the stage by Joseph Robinette, is about a young high school student who has to confront peer pressure in a social world.

Students will perform "The Chocolate War" Friday, Oct. 31 and Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. with a matinee on Saturday at 2 p.m. For tickets, log onto www.bexleytheatrearts.com.

The Columbus Jewish Historical Society is sponsoring a group trip Sunday, Nov. 9, to the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage in the Cleveland suburb of Beachwood.

A private docent tour will include the new exhibit, "Zap! Pow! Bam! The Superhero: The Golden Age of Comic Books, 1938-1950." The exhibit shows the prominence of Jewish artists and the importance of Cleveland in the development of comic book art.

The cost of the trip is $68 per person, payable to the Columbus Jewish Historical Society, 1175 College Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43209. Tickets can also be obtained by calling Peggy Kaplan at (614) 238-6977.

Ticket includes continental breakfast, box lunch, museum admission and private bus transportation. The group will meet at the Melton Community Services Building, 1175 College Ave., at 8 a.m. and return between 6 and 6:30 p.m.

Reservations are required. Check payment serves as reservation. The trip is open to the community.

The Trinity Seminary choir, soloists and chamber orchestra will perform Mozart's "Requiem Mass in D Minor" at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, in the Gloria Dei Worship Center on the campus of Trinity Lutheran Seminary, 2199 E. Main St.

The Canal Winchester Sertoma Club is seeking nominations for its annual Service to Mankind Award.

The award honors an individual who gives time and resources to help those in the community.
