The Bexley City School District will host bullying expert Trudy Ludwig to speak to students, teachers and parents about the emotional issues surrounding bullying.

The Bexley City School District will host bullying expert Trudy Ludwig to speak to students, teachers and parents about the emotional issues surrounding bullying.

Ludwig will visit all three elementary schools on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 12-13, with a community presentation in the Cassingham Theatre at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12.

Ludwig is the author of "My Secret Bully," "Trouble Talk" and "Just Kidding, Sorry!" and has been featured on "Good Morning America" on ABC.

Ludwig's visit is sponsored by Zaner-Bloser Educational Publishers, the Whitehall/Bexley Rotary Club Foundation and the Bexley Education Foundation's Thomas A. Boster Endowment Fund for Bexley Operation Respect, a program launched in 2006 to promote a more caring and respectful school environment.

The Bexley Community Book Club will host a screening of "This Boy's Life," the film adapted from 2009 book club author Tobias Wolff's memoir. The screening will be held at the Drexel Theatre at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11.

Afterward, Columbus Dispatch film critic Frank Gabrenya, book critic Bill Eichenberger and arts editor Nancy Gilson will lead a discussion about the adaptation of Wolff's memoir to film.

Wolff will visit Bexley on April 27 to meet with book club members and Bexley High School students.
