Goodwill Columbus is coming to Bexley.

Goodwill Columbus is coming to Bexley.

Goodwill plans to open its sixth retail donation center at 2505 E. Main St. in February.

The centers provide locations for people to donate items for Goodwill to resell, thus helping the nonprofit agency raise money to support programming.

"Folks are always encouraged to donate clothing, shoes, accessory purses, household items," said Anne Ransone, director of marketing and communications for Goodwill.

She said there is a list of items that Goodwill accepts on the organization's Web site, www.goodwillcolumbus.org.

Goodwill also has donation centers in Hilliard, Gahanna, Upper Arlington, Reynoldsburg and Northwest Columbus. Goodwill also has four retail stores that accept donations.

"What folks may want to know is we have a career closet," Ransone said.

Goodwill accepts gently-used business attire. People trying to get back on their feet, if referred by one of 300 social service organizations, can receive clothing to wear for job interviews.

Providing the donation centers is about offering convenience to the consumer, Ransone said.

"We appreciate the generosity of the consumer," she said. "Being available in the community makes it easier for them."
