Two Bexley residents have decided to run for city council in November.

Joseph Ours and Richard Sharp have picked up their petitions from the Franklin County Board of Elections.

Three council members -- council president Matt Lampke, Rick Weber and Robyn Jones -- will be running for re-election.

The filing deadline for council candidates is Aug. 3.

There are three, four-year seats up for grabs. No other candidates had requested petitions from the board of elections as of press time.

In addition, three Bexley residents have picked up petitions to run for the Bexley board of education.

Michele Kusma, who lost a school board race by nine votes two years ago, has decided to run again.

Longtime parent-teacher organization volunteer Carol Ann Fey said in an e-mail Monday that she was running for school board and had picked up her petitions from the elections board.

Marlee Snowdon also has picked up petitions to run for the school board.

Three, four-year terms on the school board will be filled in November.

The deadline for filing is Aug. 3.

School board members Steve Grossman and Diane Peterson have said they will not seek re-election. Board president Andrew Sutter has not announced his plans.
