The Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its first Taste of Bexley from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 19 at Franklin Park Conservatory.

The chamber looked at several locations before selecting the conservatory.

"The proximity was one of the main things we were looking for," said Taste of Bexley chairman Brad Rocco, owner of Bexley Pizza Plus. "It is right next to Bexley."

Twenty-two restaurant and catering companies have signed on for the event.

Rocco said he was not surprised by the number of vendors who plan to participate.

"I think this is something that Bexley has been wanting for awhile," he said.

Rocco said there were very few restaurants on Main Street that did not want to participate. If there is adequate space available, organizers may add four more vendors.

Participating restaurants are: Bexley Pizza Plus, Bruegger's Bagels, COSI, Rusty Bucket Corner Tavern, Jeni's Ice Cream, The Bexley Monk, Flavors Eatery, Anthony's Pizza, Rubino's Pizza, Johnson's Ice Cream, Peking Dynasty, Wing's Restaurant, The Top Steak House, Catering by Scott, MonaVie, Aladdin's Eatery, Caryn's Cusine, Moshi Sushi, Giuseppe's Ritrovo, Bexley Natural Market, Starbucks and Katzinger's Delicatessen.

Tickets for a Taste of Bexley will go on sale Sept. 1 at the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce, 2770 E. Main St., and at Bexley Pizza Plus, the Rusty Bucket and Bruegger's. Tickets will be available at the door for $20.

As part of the event, the Taste of Bexley will hold a community food drive for the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. Attendees who bring food for the drive will receive a $2 discount on their tickets.
