The Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging is accepting volunteer applications from residents of Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Licking and Pickaway counties to fill vacancies on the COAAA Advisory Council.

The Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging is accepting volunteer applications from residents of Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Licking and Pickaway counties to fill vacancies on the COAAA Advisory Council.

Council members are highly valued volunteers who represent the interests of older adults in their specific communities and advise COAAA on services, policies and programs.

The 32-member council meets at 10:30 a.m. on the first Thursday of the month, eight times a year. Meetings are held at the agency's office on the edge of downtown Columbus, with on-site parking provided.

The first annual Columbus Pottery Show and Sale will debut Oct. 3-4 at the Aladdin Shrine Center, 3580 Stelzer Road.

The show will include more than 40 art pottery exhibitors. Vendors will feature many items from the Ohio Valley region, including Rookwood, Roseville, McCoy, Weller, Owens, Cambridge and others.

Other show highlights include mid-century pieces from Polia Pillin and European potteries. Pottery book authors Mark Bassett and Richard L. Scott will attend the show.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $6. Free parking is available adjacent to the building.
