The Bexley Public Library, in partnership with local schools and the Bexley Mother's Center, will host a celebration to commemorate the building's 80th birthday while showcasing the artwork of area children.

"Celebrate the Next Chapter," will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, at the library, 2411 E. Main St.

The art display will celebrate the imagination of the children of Bexley and the imagination of authors who have helped build the library's collection, library director Susan Studebaker said in a news release.

"We want children to see themselves in the library and what better way than through an exhibit of their works," she said.

Bexley Middle School musicians will perform from 2 to 3 p.m. There will be a craft activity for young children sponsored by the Bexley Mother's Center and the Waste Not Center.

Anyone under the age of 18 who would like to exhibit one or two pieces of art can drop their contribution off at the front desk of the library through Oct. 2. The art exhibit will be on display Oct. 4 to Nov. 8.
