Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District is holding its annual Tree and Fish Sale through March 26.

Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District is holding its annual Tree and Fish Sale through March 26.

This service, provided by conservation districts across the state, has been expanded by offering a wider variety of native Ohio trees and shrubs, a rain garden kit and rain barrels.

Fish available for stocking ponds are bluegill, channel catfish, largemouth bass, yellow perch, minnows and white amur, along with a farm pond management guide.

Items available include 20 species of native Ohio trees and shrubs, four species of native warm-season grass seeds, three native wildflower seed mixes, tree shelters and ID tags, fertilizer tablets, dogwood and willow live stakes for streamside stabilization, a rain garden kit containing 38 plugs of native perennials, a rain garden manual and a 50-gallon rain barrel with diverter.

All orders must be received by the district by 4:30 p.m. March 26. Both tree and fish pick-up are at the Dublin Road office.

Pick-up for fish is April 1 from noon to 1 p.m.

Pick-up for trees is April 16 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and April 17, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Pickup for rain garden kits is May 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Perennials are available for purchase the day of tree pickup, April 16 and 17.

Orders may be downloaded from the Web and mailed to the office or placed online using PayPal.
