Due to the recent removal of some city trees by residents, Bexley is advising residents on the location of city trees.

All trees planted between the curb and sidewalk are city trees. In many situations, city trees also are planted behind the sidewalk in city easements in residential front yards.

If you look down the street and the trees seem to be in a consistent straight line, it is most likely a city tree.

Residents are advised that there is a fine of $100 per diameter inch for removing a city tree, plus the cost to replace the tree.

For more information, call the city's forestry department at 559-4255.
