Plaques honoring the Whitehall-Bexley Rotary Club and one of its former members, the late G. Roger Wells, will be dedicated at noon Friday, June 4, at Pump House Park, East Main Street and Alum Creek Drive.

The Whitehall-Bexley Rotary Club donated $40,000 to assist with the cleanup and creation of the park, which was inaugurated in 2006.

Wells served as president of the Whitehall-Bexley Rotary Club in 1982 and '83. He also was district governor of Rotary's District 6690 in 1989 and '90. Wells was a landscape architect for Columbus Parks and Recreation and was instrumental in the design of Bicentennial Park. A walking park in Hilliard is dedicated to his memory.

Wells' wife, Susan, is an honorary member of the Rotary.
