Steve Miller, St. Charles Preparatory School class of 1977, has been named to the school's new position of director of the annual fund.

The St. Charles Annual Fund is the ongoing fundraising initiative that allows the school to continue the founding missions set by Bishop James J. Hartley that "no young man seeking a St. Charles education will be denied admission based on economic means."

Miller grew up on the east side of Columbus and attended St. Thomas parish and elementary school. He returned to Columbus in 2007 after spending almost 20 years in Atlanta pursing a career in sales in the commercial officer furniture business. He served as sales manager for the Ivan Allen Co., president of Synergy Office Products, vice president of sales for new business development for Herman Miller Workplace Resources and a sales consultant for Continental Office in Columbus.

Miller lives in Canal Winchester and is the father of three children: Delon Jones (27) who lives in Columbus and his siblings Jordon (22) and Jazmin (19) who live in Georgia.

His volunteer work includes the Gwinnett County School Board Discipline Task Force as PTSA president for Meadowcreek High School; loaned executive for United Way of Central Ohio's capital campaign; on the African-American Advisory Council of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Ohio; as a board member and marketing and fundraising co-chair for the Mentoring Center of Central Ohio; and as the program director for Josiah's Mentoring and Leaders program at New Birth Christian Ministries.
