A premiere for "American Mayor," a documentary about the 2007 Bexley mayoral race, will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at 83 Gallery, 1038 N. High St.

Columbus-based production company Overbites Pictures produced the video.

Admission is free and attendees may bring their own beverages. Donations will be accepted and will be used to bring more motion-picture productions to the central Ohio area. The film's director, Travis Irvine, who recently ran for Ohio's 12th Congressional District, also will attend the screening. Irvine was one of the candidates who had sought to replace retiring Mayor David Madison in 2007.

"American Mayor" also is available for video-on-demand download through Independent Media Entertainment. IME will release the film on DVD at the end of the month through its website: www.watchtime.com.

The documentary was an official selection at the 2010 Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival and at DocuFest in Atlana.
