The Bexley Education Foundation's annual Bravo! fundraiser is slated for 7 to 11 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26 at the DSW headquarters, 810 DSW Drive.

The theme for this year's event is also the foundation's new slogan: "What's Possible." Proceeds from the community celebration benefit the programs of the Bexley Education Foundation.

The event will feature a silent auction and food from 20 area restaurants.

The silent auction will include trips to North Carolina, Ohio State University football tickets, Disney park-hopper passes and a Gatlinburg, Tenn., travel package with tickets to Dollywood. The silent auction will also feature student-created artworks from all three elementary schools, Bexley Middle School and Bexley High School.

Proceeds from the Bravo! fundraiser help the foundation provide school grants for programs including artists in the schools, dance classes and purchasing SMART Boards. Money raised from the event also provides a major portion of the funds the organization uses for grants for classroom teachers.

Grants have funded several distance-learning opportunities, including enabling classes to connect with people all over the world through the use of technology, setting up an electronic reference library that can be accessed both at school and home and facilitating streaming media video.

Organizers are hoping to raise $100,000 through sponsorships, ticket sales and the silent auction. Last year, about 800 people attended Bravo! and $106,000 was raised.

Tickets are $50 in advance, $60 at the door and $75 for a patron donation. A portion of the ticket cost is tax-deductible. Tickets can be purchased on the foundation's website at www.bexleyeducationfoundation.org or by calling 338-2093.
