As Cassingham Elementary School returns to school still mourning the loss of teacher Molly Davis, staff members, students and I want to thank the community for its outpouring of support over the past difficult weeks.

We appreciate the school family members who honored and remembered Mrs. Davis at the candlelight vigil on March 16. We are grateful for our school psychologists and counselors, Bexley professionals and others who came to our school to help us grieve and try to understand the death of such a youthful and vibrant teacher. Many volunteers took over various duties at school and made it possible for students and teachers to take a minute to talk or be sad while we continued the important job of education.

We will always remember Mrs. Davis's bright smile, many kindnesses, sense of humor, Safety Patrol hot chocolate and excitement about learning. And we are thankful to live in a community such as Bexley, where people take care of others when they most need the help.
