Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce to sponsor Taste of Bexley Oct. 10
The Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its third Taste of Bexley event on Monday, Oct. 10, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the Franklin Park Conservatory.
“We have a really great selection of food this year,” said Eliza Ingram. She and Greg Margulies, both members of the chamber board, are the event co-chairs.
“We have everything from ice cream to pizza to fine dining,” Ingram said. “We’re excited to include two restaurants that are new to Bexley, Cafe Istanbul and Zen Cha Tea Salon.”
Celebrity judges who will select the Judge’s Choice Awards will include: Rich Terapak, restaurant reviewer for 820 WOSU-AM and state coordinator of the Zagat Ohio Restaurant Survey; Jeff Hogan, WBNS-10TV; Shelley Mann, Columbus Crave; Susan Quintenz, Bexley’s 2011 Citizen of the Year; and Bexley Mayor John Brennan.
The evening will feature entertainment as well as food. Entertainers include Alex White and Friends, Carroll Baker-Magic Man, Elijah Aaron, Ian Hummel and Michael Branch.
“We’re looking forward to having our community come together to support our local businesses and enjoy all the great food and entertainment they have to offer,” Ingram said. Tickets for a Taste of Bexley can be purchased in advance at the Bexley Area Chamber of Commerce office, 2770 E. Main St., Suite 5; Bexley Pizza Plus, 2651 E. Main St.; and Bexley Coffee Shop, 492 N. Cassady Ave.
Advance tickets cost $20. On the evening of the event, tickets will be available at the door for $25. Children 12 and under will be admitted for $5 each.
During the event, the Taste of Bexley will give those attending the opportunity to make a $1 donation to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
Bexley area restaurants and catering companies will offer taste-sized portions of their dishes. Participating restaurants include Aladdin’s Eatery, Bexley Coffee Shop, Bexley Natural Market, Bexley Pizza Plus, Black Creek Bistro, Cafe Istanbul of Bexley, Catering By Scott, Cherbourg Bakery, G. Michael’s Bistro, Giant Eagle, JCC Catering, Jeni’s Ice Cream, Old 40 Tavern, Old Bag of Nails, Parkhurst Dining Services, Pita House, Rubino’s, Rusty Bucket, Shane’s Gourmet, Short and Sweet, Starbucks, Sweet Thing Gourmet, Old 40 Tavern/Thirsty Turtle Tavern, The TOP Steakhouse, White Castle, Wing’s Restaurant, and Zen Cha Tea Salon.
