Bexley High School students Abby Arace (violin I) and Tim Veneziano (viola) as well as Columbus School for Girls’ Grace Roslovic (violin I) and Ann Campo (viola) will perform with the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra Friday, Dec. 9, when “Messiah Sing-Along” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. at the Southern Theatre.
The community can participate in this holiday tradition to perform selections from Handel’s “Messiah.” Tickets cost $20 for general admission.
“Seasonal Surprises,” featuring guest conductor Teddy Abrams, will round out the weekend of music with performances at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Pontifical College Josephinum and at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, in the Southern. Tickets cost $35 for the Josephinum concert and $10-$49 at the Southern.
Abrams, assistant conductor of the New World Symphony Orchestra as well as a pianist and clarinetist, will lead ProMusica on “Seasonal Surprises” for a program of unexpected traditional and contemporary works that blend well for the holiday season.
Additionally, ProMusica is partnering with the YWCA Family Center to encourage patrons to bring disposable diaper packages to any of its December concerts to benefit the YWCA Family Center. Currently, the YWCA Family Center is in critical need of pull-up diapers in size four, five and six.
