The Bexley City School District will conduct its first community forum on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Jeffrey Mansion.

Carol Fey, board president, announced plans for a series of community forums to be held in 2012 during the board's Jan. 9 meeting.

The topic for the Feb. 4 forum will be school district communications.

Fey said other potential topics for future forums could include athletics, school best practices, and district finances.

"We want to welcome some public input and make sure that we are addressing all the concerns that are out there," Fey said.

The forum will address communications at the classroom, school building and district levels.

Superintendent Mike Johnson has said the discussion will take place in the context of board policy already in place.

"Our forum will help us gather information that will intentionally influence current policy or inform the development of new policy," Johnson said.
