Fifth-graders at Montrose Elementary School are making bottle cap lawn ornaments in the shape of flowers and insects to raise money for the Bexley Education Foundation's (BEF) annual Bravo! fundraiser.

The ornaments will be offered for sale by silent auction at the Bravo! winter "party with a purpose," on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the DSW home office.

The large "recycled art" pieces, created under the direction of art teacher Becky Liefeld, will be among dozens of artworks and handmade items created by K-12 students in Bexley City Schools that will be available in the children's art section of the silent auction at Bravo! The silent auction will also feature a variety of other items up for bid, from sporting event tickets to spa days, all donated by area businesses and residents.

Bravo! will also feature a 50/50 raffle and 22 tasting stations from area restaurants and caterers.

All funds raised through the Bravo! silent auction and raffle, as well as through Bravo! sponsorships and ticket sales, are used to support the grant-making programs of the Bexley Education Foundation.

The foundation operates on the belief that excellent public schools are essential to the economic and social health of the communities they serve. To that end, BEF supports educational initiatives that enhance quality education for students in the school district.

BEF support is delivered through its many grants programs, which fund projects initiated by teachers and schools that directly enhance learning experiences for a significant number of students. BEF funds are raised through the foundation's annual Fund Campaign, BRAVO!, Bexley Community Book Club and other programs.

To date, BEF has provided more than $4 million in grants to Bexley City Schools.

Tickets for Bravo! are $50 each, or $75 for a patron donation. Sponsorships are available, starting at $300 for a Bronze Sponsorship, which includes two tickets to the event. To purchase tickets or for more information, visit www.bexleyeducationfoundation.org or call the BEF office at 614-338-2093.
