Holiday gift ideas abound at Festival of the Arts

The 10th annual Bexley Festival of the Arts will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Montrose Elementary School, 2555 E. Main St.

This family event showcases more than 30 artists and crafters working in a range of media, who will show and sell their works of jewelry, stained glass, photography, digital artwork, handmade purses and fine art. Other features include baby items, holiday decorations, popular sized doll clothes, fresh floral arrangements, pottery and woodworking.

In addition, there will be live performances in dance, music, martial arts, and other arts as well as demonstrations and hands-on activities for children.

The performance schedule is:

10 a.m. -- Christine Avers' piano students.

10:30 a.m. -- Bexley High School Women's Chorale.

11 a.m. -- Bexley High School Holiday Ensemble (orchestra).

11:30 a.m. -- Merry Pruitt, pianist.

Noon -- Regan Rankin Academy of Irish Dance.

12:30 p.m. -- Suzuki Music Center of Central Ohio.

1:30 p.m. -- Chushin Center Aikido demonstration.

2 p.m. -- BalletMet Academy of Dance.

2:30 p.m. -- Raffle winner announced.

3 p.m. The Big Rockin' Blues Band.

Photo Images will also be on site to take family, group and individual portraits. All images will be emailed the week of Dec. 3. Digital images can be used for gifts, holiday cards, or any professional or social network. The cost for the first image is $35 plus tax and each additional image is $20 plus tax, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Montrose PTO. Photo sessions can be scheduled between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for the festival by emailing Joni at or calling 614-239-8646.

Piccadilly will be making holiday art with kids of all ages from noon to 3 p.m. Parents who prefer to shop at the festival without their children can take advantage of baby-sitting at Piccadilly's 2501 Main St. location. Open hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a $10 per hour fee for one child, $5 per hour for each additional sibling. Call ahead for reservations at 614-725-0204.

Again this year, the Bexley Festival of the Arts will also host the Kids Gift Galley. In this area, young crafters sell their wares for $7 or less. Jewelry, bath products, aroma, Buckeye goods, snowmen and ornaments will be among the goods available.

Admission to the festival is free. Food will be available for purchase.
