* At 5:30 p.m. Feb. 25, a resident reported a plastic tool box and its contents worth $200 and a leaf blower, also worth $200, were stolen from an unlocked garage in the 100 block of South Roosevelt Avenue.

* Less than an hour later, another report came from just a few houses down that rechargeable batteries for Power Wheels cars and the battery charger that accompanied them were stolen from a detached garage. Those items were reported to be worth $300.

* On Feb. 26, police took another garage theft report from a residence the 100 block of North Roosevelt Avenue. The victim reported that sometime during the previous weekend, a thief entered an attached garage and stole a men's 21-speed bicycle reportedly worth $500, a bicycle helmet worth $25 and a $10 pair of sunglasses.

* Police officers were called to the 200 block of North Roosevelt Avenue Feb. 24 by a homeowner whose van had been broken into. The van's passenger-side window was smashed to gain entry, but only 30 cents in change from the vehicle's console was stolen.
