Community cleanup planned April 13

Monday April 1, 2013 8:56 PM

Timed just right for residents' spring cleaning, Bexley will host its annual cleanup day Saturday, April 13.

Residents can volunteer to pick up litter and remove plants throughout the community by checking in at 9 a.m. at the Gateway South parking lot across from Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, 2156 E. Main St., or they can clean at their own homes and let the city take care of any unwanted items from 9 a.m. to noon at the Gateway South lot.

The city will bring in vendors that take old bicycles, metal items, electronics, gently used clothing and batteries and light bulbs. Shred It also will be on hand to destroy confidential papers.

All those who volunteer will be treated to live music, games and food at Pump House Park from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
