Pianist and performer Michael Feinstein, hailed as the "Ambassador of the Great American Songbook," will return to his hometown to celebrate 100 years of the Jewish Community Center with a concert at 7:30 p.m. May 23 at the Lincoln Theatre, 769 E. Long St. in Columbus' King-Lincoln District.
Growing up, Feinstein spent many days and nights at the JCC, working on shows with Gallery Players. In shows such as Fiddler on the Roof, The Dybbuk and West Side Story, Feinstein honed his stage persona.
Since then, Feinstein has enjoyed a multi-platinum career and many awards and accolades, including two Emmy nominations and five Grammy nominations. He performs upwards of 200 live shows annually and composes live Broadway shows regularly.
The JCC 100 Grand Celebration also includes a dessert reception, at which time Graeter's will reveal its specially created JCC 100 ice cream flavor.

The fourth-generation, family-owned ice cream company has fashioned a unique flavor for the JCC, according to Chief of Quality Assurance Robert Graeter, who personally oversaw the flavor's development. It's name, abbreviated, has the initials "JCC."
After it is revealed May 23, it will be available throughout Central Ohio until the end of June at the JCC's JCafe and in Graeter's 10 Central Ohio stores. The flavor will also be featured in all 30 Ohio Graeter's Ice Cream retail stores and online for a limited time.
On May 24, the Bexley Graeter's store at 2282 E. Main St. will feature the first taste. It will also be served at the JCC FunFest Oct. 6.
