Investigation into an incident of check fraud involving the Columbus School for Girls revealed one check in question was correct for the school's routing and account number but the check number was one that was not yet in the sequence being used. This check and 14 others were found to have been forged and cashed at various financial institutions.
No checks were stolen from any book at the school. Bexley police continue to investigate how the fraud occurred.
