Bexley: Car theft fails but ignition left inoperable
Bexley police said a resident of Lebanon, Ohio, reported that on Aug. 14, someone attempted to steal her vehicle while it was parked in a lot in the 500 block of Sheridan Avenue.
The unknown suspect entered the unlocked vehicle, removed the ignition cover and rendered the ignition inoperable, police reports said.
In other Bexley police reports:
* An employee of a business in the 2700 block of East Main Street reported that on Aug. 15, a male suspect pulled his pants down and exposed himself to customers.
* A resident in the 2500 block of Bexley Park Road reported that on Aug. 19, a male suspect stole a 4- or 5-foot section of copper downspout pipe valued at $25.
* An employee at a business in the 2200 block of East Livingston Avenue reported that on Aug. 18, a female suspect stole two cases of beer valued at a total of $33.98.
* A resident in the 700 block of Grandon Avenue reported that between July 2 and Aug. 11, a handgun valued at $469.99 was stolen from his home.
