Upcoming programs and events at the Bexley Public Library, 2411 E. Main St., are listed below.
The library is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 614-231-2793.
FAMILY MOVIE MATINEE
A Family Movie Matinee presentation of ParaNorman is set for 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, for all ages. Popcorn and drinks will be provided.
THURBER HOUSE WORKSHOP
Jody Casella will lead the first program in a three-part writing workshop from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 19.
Adults will learn how to start, plot, and edit a novel in anticipation of National Novel Writing Month. Additional workshops will be held Nov. 9 at Thurber House and Dec. 7 at the library.
The Shazzbots will appear in concert from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20.
An Internet Basics class for adults is scheduled for 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21.
In a small group setting, participants will learn the basics of using the Internet, including effective searching and evaluating credible websites. Call 614-231-2793 or stop by to register.
DRUGSTORE SAVINGS SECRETS
Lynette Rice, author of CleverlySimple.com and Savings.com Deal Pro, will teach techniques to save money at the drugstore from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY
Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to take part in a Make a Difference Day activity from 2 to 3 p.m. Oct. 26.
Make a difference in the lives of the kids at Nationwide Children's Hospital by making cards and crafts and receive community service hours. The library will provide the supplies.
TEA AT THREE
QUBE, Otterbein University's string quartet, is back this year with new cellist Wendy Morton. The Friends of Bexley Public Library will hold their annual membership meeting at 2:30 p.m. and QUBE will perform as part of the Tea At Three concert series at 3 p.m. Tea and cookies will be served.
HORROR NOVELS AND CUPCAKES
The library will present Horrors! Horror Books and Haunted Cupcakes from 7 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29.
Gather to hear about hideous horror novels. Also, compete in the World War C cupcake contest by bringing a cupcake to be judged.
eREADER OPEN HOUSE
Owners of an eReader are invited to bring their device and learn how to download free books from the library's digital library from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 30.
