LIBRARY BOARD MEETING
The library's board of trustees will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, in the Board Room.
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOK SALE
The Friends of the Library will host a book sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22 and 23, as well as 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, which is half-price day.
A preview of the sale for Friends members will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21. New members may join at the door.
A IS FOR APPS
Adults and youth ages 3-8 can explore iPad apps for children and families from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24. Participants should bring their own devices.
READ WITH ROVER
Youth of all ages are invited to practice reading with a trained therapy dog from 2 to 3 p.m. Dec. 1. Call 614-231-2878 or stop in to register.
HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE
The library will hold a Holiday Open House from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 1. Refreshments and holiday music will be featured.
Adults can learn the basics of using a computer in a class set from 2 to 3 p.m. Dec. 4.
MOTHER-DAUGHTER BOOK CLUB
Adults and youth in grades 3-6 can read Inside Out and Back Again by Thanhha Lai, then attend a book club session from 7 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4, where they will share trivia to challenge friends and share conversations about the book. The event is open to parents and kids.
Local author Jason Sanford will present "Searching for the Strange in Short Fiction" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 4. He will share his insights into short stories and his take on science fiction called SciFi Strange, which flirts with the boundaries of what is realistically possible.
PAPER PUPS PROGRAM
Youth in grades 4-6 can join paper cutting and folding expert/author Hiroshi Hayakawa for an event where they will learn to create paper pups, just like the ones in his book, from 4 to 5 p.m. Dec. 6. Registration is required. Call 614-231-2878.
THURBER HOUSE WORKSHOP
Young adult author Jody Casella will discuss editing and the next steps to take after NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month, is finished. The program, set for 11 a.m. to noon Dec. 7, is being presented in conjunction with Thurber House.
