Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus, Old Columbus Jews Telling Jokes -- karaoke-style joke fest, 8 p.m. Jan. 18 at the JCC, 1125 College Ave. The event honors the life and comedy of the late Sam Gordon, a jokester and JCC regular. Author Discussion, Wrestling with Yoga: Journey of a Jewish Soul featuring Shelly Dembe, 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Bexley Public Library, 2411 E. Main St. This book focuses on the author's journeys through the worlds of yoga and Judaism, addressing the tension and compatibility between these two life paths. Dembe is a registered nurse, E-RYT 500 Yoga teacher and personal trainer. Books will be available for signing and purchase. AARP Foundation Senior Community Service Employment Program assists unemployed Franklin, Delaware and Licking county workers age 55 and over with securing employment. Wexner Heritage Village Spiritual Life Team, information session and training luncheon for the Nadav Spiritual Volunteer Program, noon to 1 p.m. March 11, at Wexner Heritage Village, 1151 College Ave. Zusman Hospice Jewish Chaplain Rabbi Debbie Lefton will lead the session. This program pairs trained volunteer visitors with long-term care, independent and assisted living residents on the WHV campus, as well as unaffiliated individuals in central Ohio, who seek a spiritual confidant to explore issues such as faith, the afterlife, religious values and beliefs. Medicare Counseling, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month at Wexner Heritage Village, 1151 College Ave. Volunteer Kathy Markus, a Medicare outreach specialist for the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging, will hold open office hours to discuss enrollment options, prescription drug plans and their benefits, Medicare Advantage plans, financial assistance programs for people with limited incomes and long-term care insurance. The free, confidential, one-on-one service is being offered in partnership with the Ohio Department of Insurance's Senior Health Insurance Information Program.
