Speech and Debate senior Peter Heft and junior Parker Murphy, representing Bexley High School, won first place in policy debate at the National Forensics League Western Ohio national qualifying tournament, earning the right to travel to Kansas City, Mo., in June for the NFL National Tournament.

* Nearly 125 Bexley students in grades 8-12 took part in the American Mathematics Competition in February with top finishers for the AMC 10 being David Heym, grade 10, first; Jonah Stuber, grade 10, second; and Hank Snowden and Spencer Brooks, grade 9, third. Top finishers for the AMC 12 were Eric Maxwell, grade 12, first; Elizabeth Heym, grade 12, second; and Matthew Mendivil, grade 11, third.

* The artwork of five Montrose Elementary School students is included in current juried exhibitions of the Ohio Art Education Association. Those students include kindergartners Kamryn Brickerson and Payton Porter; fifth-graders Jordan Hohmann and Shawn Stanley; and second-grader Charlotte Sullivan.

* Bexley High School sophomores Benjamin Kanas and Frank Dittulio recently competed in the Arnold Fencing Classic, with Kanas winning a bronze medal in the Cadet (U17) Mixed Foil event and Dittulio winning bronze in both the Cadet Mixed Saber and Senior Mixed Saber events.
