The Bexley City School District offers free, all-day kindergarten for all students who turn 5 on or before Aug. 1 of the year that they intend to enroll.

General registration for kindergarten at each of Bexley's elementary schools is scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. April 1 and 2. Students whose last name begins with the letters A-L should register Tuesday and those with last names beginning with M-Z should register Wednesday. The district asks that parent/guardians register children at the school they will attend. Information about the boundaries for each Bexley elementary school is available at BexleySchools.org-Quick Look-Registration.

The following information will be needed during the kindergarten registration process:

* Proof of residency (completed rental, lease, or proof of ownership; check with address from a current checking account; utility receipt or deposit receipt; and driver's license);

* Student's original birth certificate (the school will make a copy);

* Custodial papers (if applicable; must be a certified copy of the court order);

* Immunization records.

BexleySchools.orgoffers more information about kindergarten readiness, as well links to several forms: Registration Paperwork, Bexley Enrollment Form, the district's Residency Policy and Application for Intradistrict Enrollment.

After spring registration, families new to the district may register over the summer by calling the elementary school the student will attend and making sure the school secretary is available to assist with the registration process.
