Bexley City Schools' Financial Accountability Committee is open to any resident who wishes to help the school district address the complex issue of school financing. The group meets next at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 22, in the Cassingham Complex Community Room.
The school district has managed its budget so that funds from a 2010 levy are lasting longer than expected, yet soon it will be time for the district to ask stakeholders for the next school levy.
Professionals and interested community members have come together to review the district's five-year financial forecasts, a history of tax levies, trends in revenue sources and expenditures and the impact of the federal Affordable Health Care Act.
For more information about the work of the committee, contact Superintendent Mike Johnson or Treasurer Chris Essman at 614-231-7611.
