Parents and school officials were scheduled to hold a ribbon cutting Monday, Aug. 11, at Montrose Elementary School to open the renovated playground to the community.
There was to be a short presentation before children were permitted to play.
"I know that I cannot wait to see the look on the kids' faces," said Kelly Salmon, a parent and fundraising volunteer.
The regular Bexley Board of Education meeting was postponed slightly to accommodate the ceremony.
Parents came together to raise funding for the new playground, at two sites on either side of the school.
A parent-build was held during the summer to install the new equipment.
