Sophomore Zack Vesco, a St. Charles graduate and Pickerington native, helped the Wooster baseball team to a 5-1 record in the week ending April 18.

Vesco, a third baseman, went 12-for-20 with 11 RBI, two runs and a triple.

Bexley High School will play host to a boys basketball camp June 14-17. The session for players grades 3-6 will be from 9 a.m. to noon and the session for players grades 7-9 will be from 1-4 p.m.

Former Ohio State and NFL football player Chris Spielman will hold the fourth-annual Chris Spielman Football Camp from 5:30-8:30 p.m. July 19-21 at Dublin Coffman High School for boys and girls ages 7-14. Spielman will be at the camp to direct activities and help provide instruction, in addition to various local high school and college coaches.

The Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series will be held Sept. 5 and 6 at Ohio Stadium with doubleheaders taking place on both days.

All four games will be televised live on ESPN or ESPNU.

On Sept. 5 Dublin Coffman will play Westerville South in the first game of the day and Huber Heights Wayne will play Canton McKinley in the second game.

On Sept. 6 Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) William T. Dwyer will play Cleveland Glenville in the first game and Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Frommel Smith will play Pickerington Central in the second contest.

Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jay Bruce will hold the inaugural Jay Bruce Baseball Camp from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 19-21 at the facility at Prasco Park in Mason for boys and girls ages 6-14.

Capital will play host to a softball day camp, residential camp, mini-camp and also hitting and bunting clinics for girls entering grades 5-12.

The mini camp will be from 2-6 p.m. May 22-23, the day camp will be from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 14-17 and the residential camp will be from July 5-8.
