Former women’s college basketball coach Caren Truske and former Ohio State player Marscilla Packer have been hired by Columbus School for Girls to lead the basketball program.
Truske, who has nearly 30 years of coaching experience, will serve as head coach and Packer will be the varsity assistant. Truske replaces Lindsey Smith, who also was CSG’s athletics director and left to become athletics director at Wellington.
Truske previously was head coach at Stetson University and an assistant at Notre Dame, Minnesota and Syracuse. She currently is a ninth-grade physical science teacher at Marion-Franklin.
Packer, who graduated from Pickerington North in 2004, helped the Buckeyes win four consecutive Big Ten Conference titles from 2005-08. She played professionally in Europe and has coached at Pickerington North and with Ohio Youth Basketball.
