Developers expect to expand a medical office building planned for the Diley Ridge Medical Park campus, due to increased interest.

Paul Ghidotti, executive vice president for the developing company Daimler Group, said he expects to submit a permit request soon to increase the size of the building from 40,000 square feet to 46,000 square feet.

"It came about as a result of a particular user," he said. "We've had good activity. There's been a lot of interest in the building."

Ghidotti would not identify the user. He only said the user needs first-floor access.

Canal Winchester development director Chris Strayer said the user in question would prefer to make the announcement.

"They're getting a great response on that building," Strayer said. "They filled it and we haven't put a foot on a shovel."

Ghidotti said construction of the medical office building off Diley Road is scheduled to start in April and be completed by Jan. 1 next year.

The medical center is expected to open at the same time.

"It's the intent to open both buildings at the same time," Ghidotti said.
