Family Rosary Day, sponsored by the Diocese of Columbus, will be observed at 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 10, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 2777 East Livingston Ave.

The Most Reverend Frederick F. Campbell, Bishop of Columbus, will preside at Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Father David Schalk, who is responsible for pastoral care of Spanish-speaking Catholics at Christ the King, will be the homilist.

The community is invited.

The rosary is a devotion embraced by many Catholics. The beginnings of the rosary are traced to the life of St. Dominic, the founder of the Order of Preachers or Dominicans, approximately 1221 A.D. Rosary is defined as "a crown of roses." The prayers are a spiritual bouquet offered to the Blessed Mother asking her intercession on our behalf.
