Finalists have been announced for SWACO's annual Central Ohio Emerald Awards.

The program recognizes green leaders in Franklin County with honors in the categories of Leadership, Small Businesses/Non-profit/Institution of the Year, Large Businesses/Non-profit/Institution of the Year, Good Neighbor, Environmental Education, Young & Green (high school students) and Community of the Year.

The finalists in the Leadership category are Kurtz Brothers, Design Group and The Furniture Bank of Central Ohio.

Tops in Small Business are Pattycake Bakery, Forward Air LCK and e-Cycle LLC.

Community of the Year finalists are Gahanna and Grove City/Jackson Township.

Vying for the Environmental Education award will be the Ohio Hospital Association, the Capital Crossroads Special Improvements District and Otterbein University.

The Good Neighbor finalists are Dr. Herbert Ockerman of The Ohio State University, Sustainable Worthington and Keep Grove City/Jackson Township.

The lone finalist in this year's "Young and Green" competition is The Linden McKinely STEM Academy.

The Chi Eta Phi Sorority (a professional nurses association) will host its 26th annual Nursing Scholarship and Fashion Show Luncheon at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at Monaco's Palace, 4555 Cleveland Ave.

Proceeds from the luncheon will provide scholarships for professional student nurses enrolled in local programs.

Tickets are $35 per person. Door prizes will be awarded.
