The Canal Winchester Board of Education set Oct. 17, 18, 22, and 23 as the dates to interview candidates hoping to become the district's next superintendent.
Current Superintendent Kimberley Miller-Smith announced in July she would retire at the end of the year.
The closing date for candidates to submit applications the post is Oct. 4. The board is expected to receive a slate of candidates from the Ohio School Boards Association, the organization conducting the search, by Oct. 11.
Miller-Smith told the board at its Sept. 17 meeting that a new "one-stop shop" section had been added to the district website as a way to keep residents posted on finances and how the district is spending money and curbing costs.
"You will see several sections that give you information about what we're doing to try to save money, how we're reaching the goals of our plan, and what our intentions are from here on out," Miller-Smith said. "The message that I think Canal Winchester residents should be very proud of is the fact that we are maintaining quality schools at a great value."
To access the district's financials, viewers can go to cwschools.org and click on "District Information" from the home page. A link to the district's finances will then appear, which allows viewers to read about the school system's efforts to maintain financial stability, the treasurer's report, cost-cutting and efficiency measures and levy facts.
Miller-Smith said plans are to update the site whenever there is anything new to report on finances or new measures enacted to trim costs.
