Pickerington High School Central will host 112 antique vendors and crafters Saturday, Nov. 3, for the 28th Pickerington Antique & Craft Show.
The annual antique and craft show returns on its usual day and time -- the first Saturday of November from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Organized by both the PHS Central and Pickerington High School North parent-teacher organizations, the event has grown to draw antique and craft enthusiasts from well beyond Pickerington and Violet Township.
Antique & Craft Show Co-Chairwoman Michelle Waterhouse said more than 2,200 shoppers attend the event each year.
Those who do provide financial support to both Central and North.
Proceeds from booth space rentals, admissions, concessions and homemade lunch selections go toward academic programs at both schools and college scholarships for their respective graduating seniors.
"Last year, we raised $13,000, which we divided equally between North and Central," Waterhouse said.
"It is really effective in raising money," she said.
"We put that money toward things the schools need," Waterhouse said.
"These are things that we would have no other way to fund."
Within Central's gymnasium and field house will be 112 vendors from Ohio and other states.
Although vendors keep the money from their sales, Waterhouse said the event draws a wide array of sellers, in part, because of show's affiliation with education and because many students assist with everything from booth set-ups and tear-downs, to concessions.
"Something the vendors like about our event is the student help," Waterhouse said.
As for show wares, she said there are 10 new vendors this year who will sell soaps, candles, copper and wood signs, Block "O" tie-dye designs, art and jewelry.
"It's homemade items and just quality vendors and it's a wide range of things," Waterhouse said.
"We have a whole section of antiques and there's a new group of antique vendors who have these 'shabby chic' items like decorative glasses and crafts," she said.
"The just find treasures and sell them."
Amenities for attendees will include the Ohio State football game versus Illinois on televisions in the school cafeteria and ATMs provided by Fifth Third Bank.
Admission is $3 for the general public and $2 for senior citizens.
Children 12 and younger will be admitted for free.
There is no fee for parking. PHS Central is located at 300 Opportunity Way.
