Groveport Madison High School students got two extra days off this week because of a broken sanitary sewer line.
The line, which broke outside the high school on Wednesday, Feb. 13, prevented students from returning to school after a scheduled waiver day.
District Business Manager Larry Ricchi said Feb. 14 the break was partly caused by the failure of a previous repair and settling of the soil in the area of the old repair. The leak was discovered when it caused a backup of the sanitary sewer
District personnel and a plumbing contractor were called in to make the repairs.
Students are expected to be back in their classrooms on Monday, Feb. 18.
