May 26 ceremony

13 valedictorians lead CWHS graduating class


Approximately 250 Canal Winchester High School seniors will receive their diplomas during a graduation ceremony scheduled for Sunday, May 26.

The 2 p.m. event will be held at the Aladdin Shrine and Conference Center, 3850 Stelzer Road in Columbus.

Music will be provided by the high school choir and an eight-piece brass ensemble.

Thirteen students will lead the CWHS class of 2013 and will be the featured speakers.

The valedictorians are:

* Sierra Barnett, daughter of James and Irene Barnett, who plans to attend Point Park University and major in modern and jazz dance and business management.

* Megan Byrd, daughter of Kelly and Kimberly Byrd. She will attend New York University to major in creative writing.

* Riley Collins, son of Doug and Jen Collins, who plans to attend Miami University and major in marketing and computational engineering.

* Rachel Dosch, daughter of Greg and Lisa Dosch, who will attend Otterbein University, where she will major in history education.

* Danica Downard, daughter of David and Angela Downard, plans to attend Ohio State University to major in pre-med with an emphasis in optometry.

* McKinzie Harper, daughter of T.J. and Julie Harper, who plans to attend Ohio State University and major in public affairs and pre-law.

* Tori Horne, daughter of Debbie Napper, who plans to attend Ohio State University, where she will major in biology and pre-med.

* Kaitlan Martino, daughter of Tammy Martino, plans to attend Ohio Dominican University to major in English.

* Kaitlin Miller, daughter of Richard and Melanie Martino, will attend Ohio University Lancaster. She is undecided about her major.

* Samantha Myers, daughter of Tom and Linda Myers, who plans to attend Otterbein University and major in mathematics education.

* Hannah Walter, daughter of Jonathon and Debbie Walter, plans to attend Capital University and major in nursing.

* Davontae Willis, son of Jeanette Credle, who plans to attend Vanderbilt University and major in molecular and cellular biology.

* Jenna Zuberi, daughter of Mussaret and Stacy Zuberi, will attend Capital University to major in early childhood education.
