Groveport Madison graduation scheduled June 2

Nearly 300 Groveport Madison High School seniors will say farewell to their classmates on Sunday, June 2.
The graduation ceremony, which begins at 2 p.m., is being held at the Celeste Center on the grounds of the Ohio Expo Center (state fairgrounds).
Four valedictorians lead the class of 2013.
Receiving the highest honors are: Amy Castle, daughter of John Castle, of Columbus; Kyle Sherrets, son of Mary Sherrets, of Groveport; Shirley Tang, daughter of Min Yan Lin, of Columbus; and Cassidy Tigner, daughter of Mark and Jodi Tigner, of Reynoldsburg.
Castle, who has received more than $25,000 in scholarships, is planning to attend Muskingum University in the fall.
Cassidy, Sherrets and Tang will be attending Ohio State University.
Cassidy has scholarship offers from universities totaling more than $230,000; Sherrets' scholarships total $12,000; and Tang is the recipient of a $4,000 OSU Engineering Scholarship.
According to Groveport Madison High School Principal Thomas Aric, the four valedictorians, a student from the Cruiser Academy, Superintendent Bruce Hoover and a member of the board of education will be the featured speakers at the ceremony.
The high school band and choir also are expected to perform for the graduating class, their family members and friends.
