Experienced chef de jour Jim Wynkoop, a lifetime resident of Canal Winchester with more than 25 years of experience in the restaurant and corporate culinary arts, will be holding a six-week Basic Culinary Course for anyone age 18 and older.
The course will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from July 9 through Sept. 24 at the Canal Winchester Community Center, 22 S. Trine St.
Topics include knife usage and selection on July 9; pots and pans, July 23; cooking methods, Aug. 13; cooking facts, Aug. 27; spices, Sept. 10; and five ingredients or less, Sept. 24.
Cost is $60, which includes all six classes. Cash, check or credit cards are accepted in advance. Class size will be limited to the first 25 registered respondents. Anyone interested should register in person at the community center between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
This class is best suited for those with little or no cooking experience or anyone wanting to brush up on their skills.
