Lifeline of Ohio's annual Dash for Donation, an organ and tissue donation awareness race/walk, will take place on Saturday, July 13, beginning at 200 W. Nationwide Blvd. in downtown Columbus' Arena District.
Race day registration opens at 6:30 a.m. The Kids and Mascots Dash is at 8 a.m.; the 1K Family Fun Walk starts at 8 a.m., and the 5K Run/Walk begins at 8:30 a.m.
More than 4,000 people will complete the race in green T-shirts to represent the lives saved and healed through organ, eye and tissue donations and transplantations.
Donor families are urged to participate in the Donor Remembrance Wall. This is an opportunity for donors to create a poster to commemorate a loved one's gift of an organ or tissue donation. The posters will be displayed near the start/finish line.
Registration for the 5K is $35. The $25 "I'm a Hero" discount will be given to 5K participants who are registered organ and tissue donors.
