With spring in full swing, community garden sign-ups are on the agenda in Groveport and Canal Winchester.
Both cities are also making garden plots available to local "green thumbs."
Canal Winchester's community garden program is now accepting applications for its 55 available plots. Each measures 10-feet by 20-feet. All plots are free to residents and given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Plot assignments will be made April 30.
The Canal Winchester Rotary Club has partnered with the city and will till the gardens prior to plot assignments to make planting easy. The community garden is located in Emma's Meadow, the green space behind the former Bolenbaugh Hardware building.

Groveport also is now accepting applications for its community garden, located in Heritage Park. The 10-foot by 10-foot plots cost $10 per year and are available first to Groveport residents, then to non-residents.
