Shawn Hinkle resigned from his job as coach of the Canal Winchester High School football team on Nov. 22.
Hinkle led the Indians to a 16-16 overall record in three seasons; but this fall, they finished 0-10 overall while being outscored 402-116 and went 0-7 in their first season in the OCC-Cardinal Division. It marked their first losing season since 2006, when they went 2-8.
“Things didn’t go as well as we hoped this past season, so it was probably time to go in a new direction,” Hinkle said. “It wasn’t an easy decision because I will greatly miss the kids in the locker room. It was just time to move on to other things. It was time for a change.”
