Between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Oct. 14, in the 500 block of Fallis Road: A woman reported she went into her detached garage, leaving a side door open. A burglar, in the time she was in the garage, entered the door and stole her $125 cell phone and $25 worth of household items.

Between 5 p.m. Oct. 14 and 8:40 a.m. Oct. 15, in the first block of Blenheim Road: A woman reported a thief stole her $23,000 Honda Civic Hybrid from the alley at the rear of her residence. Police found no glass where it had been parked.

Between 2:30 and 5:30 a.m. Oct. 17, in the 4400 block of Indianola Avenue: Workers reported an intruder kicked in a door to a storage garage and stole $1,950 worth of tools. The intruder caused $900 worth of damage to doors and locks.

Between 11:30 p.m. Oct. 16 and 8 a.m. Oct. 17 in the 2900 block of North High Street: Workers reported intruders broke out a window, entered and stole a safe containing cash. The intruders took the safe and fled out a rear door.

1:04 p.m. Oct. 18, in the 200 block of Graceland Boulevard: A woman reported a thief stole the keys to her 2002 Ford Taurus from her purse, while it was in a back room of this business, and stole the car from the lot.

Oct. 15, Giant Eagle, 2801 N. High St.: Police charged a man with criminal trespass.

10:40 a.m. Oct. 14, North Education Center, 100 Arcadia Ave.: Police charged a teenager with littering after she dropped trash on the lawn of this facility.

7:44 p.m. Oct. 14, in the 300 block of East Weber Road: A man reported an unknown person sent him a fraudulent check.

11 p.m. Oct. 11, in the 4700 block of North High Street: Workers reported a vandal smashed out a $50 security light.

8:50 a.m. Oct. 6, UDF, 5370 N. High St.: Police on Oct. 9 charged a Northland area woman with aggravated robbery. A store clerk said a woman brought items to the counter and asked for two cartons of cigarettes. When the clerk came back after getting her manager's approval, the customer said she had a gun and threatened to shoot the clerk unless she turned over the cigarettes. The clerk complied and the woman fled. The woman was also charged with a felony count of theft that day as the result of a purse snatching in the 5000 block of North High.

8 a.m. Oct. 6, North High Street at Arcadia Avenue: A teenager reported someone threatened him with harm and stole his wallet containing $6.

2:15 p.m. Oct. 3, in the first block of Nottingham Road: An 82-year-old man said he got a call from someone saying he was the victim's grandson, had been in an accident in Canada, and needed $5,000. The victim sent the money and the next day spoke to his grandson, who had not been in Canada. Police warned the public about this scam via press release last week, saying at least five similar scams were reported recently.

10:48 p.m. Oct. 8, in the 500 block of Melrose Avenue: A man reported he heard someone walking up the stairs in his home, looked out of his room and saw someone walking down the stairs, using a lighter to provide light. The intruder left the house without taking anything, the resident said.

10:49 p.m. Oct. 11, in the 3800 block of North High Street: A man reported someone broke into his home but took nothing.

Between 12:30 and 7 a.m. Oct. 9, in the 400 block of Tibet Road: A man reported the theft of a $250 bicycle and a $125 child trailer from his garage.

Between 9 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. Oct. 10, in the first block of West Cooke Road: A woman reported someone broke into his home and stole a PlayStation II.

1:35 a.m. Oct. 6, in the 4600 block of Indianola Avenue: Police responding to an alarm that apparently scared away intruders. Workers said slats were removed from a fence, telephone lines were cut, and intruders went up stairs to the roof where they tampered with the alarm, then fled empty-handed.

Oct. 6, in the 300 block of Cliffside Drive: Police charged a man with domestic violence and assault.

Between 9 a.m. Sept. 8 and 9 a.m. Sept. 12, in the 600 block of Wetmore Road: A man reported someone stole a piece of outgoing mail from his mailbox, altered the amount of a check inside and cashed the check.

3 p.m. Oct. 6, in the 100 block of Clinton Heights Avenue: A man reported the theft last month of downspouts from his garage.

11:40 p.m. Oct. 7, in the 4200 block of Eastlea Drive: A woman reported the theft Sept. 24 of a $100 garden bench from her yard.

Between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 6 and 6:20 p.m. Oct. 10, in the 500 block of Oakland Park Avenue: A woman reported she is harassed electronically by a man she asked to leave her alone.

7:05 p.m. Oct. 11, in the 2800 block of Calumet Street: A man reported he received harassing and threatening telephone calls.

2:15 p.m. Oct. 11, in the 5000 block of North High Street: A man reported the theft of his son's $288 bicycle.

Thefts from or vandalism to autos were reported from: the 100 block of East Pacemont Road, the first block of Crestview Road, the 300 block of East Dunedin Road, the first block of East California Avenue and the 4600 block of Ralston Avenue, the 100 block of Highfield Drive, the 4000 block of North High Street and the 300 block of Fallis and the 200 block of West Dodridge roads.
